چکیده
Abstract The aim of this paper is to investigate the water pressure effects on hydraulic fracture behavior concrete with wedge-splitting testing under dynamic loading. Five waterproof strain gauges are stuck along crack path observe process during experiments. Four silicon sensors successfully measured value face. results show that faces accelerates propagation concrete. critical values splitting force decrease 26.7 and 25.6%, respectively, external applied 0.2 0.4 MPa. Moreover, speed increases at beginning tends reach a peak finally. cracking 11.08 m/s, which high. Under loading, fails fill only trapped interacts mainly parabolic curve distribution decreases increase in length.

An experimental study on hydraulic behavior of free-surface radial flow in coarse-grained porous media
The equations of fluids in porous media are very useful in designing the rockfill and diversion dams, gabions, breakwaters and ground water reserves. Researches have been showed that the Forchheimer equation is not sufficient for the analysis of hydraulic behavior of free-surface radial flows; because, in these flows, in addition to the hydraulic gradient and velocity, the variable of radius is...
متن کاملBehavior of a hydraulic fracture in permeable formations
The permeability and coupled behavior of pore pressure and deformations play an important role in hydraulic fracturing (HF) modeling. In this work, a poroelastic displacement discontinuity method is used to study the permeability effect on the HF development in various formation permeabilities. The numerical method is verified by the existing analytical and experimental data. Then the propagati...
متن کاملDetermination of size-independent specific fracture energy of concrete from three-point bend and wedge splitting tests
Three-point bend (TPB) and wedge splitting (WS) tests have been conducted on three different concretes and the specific fracture energy GF determined on the basis of the concept of local fracture energy. The latter is influenced by the free back surface of a notched test specimen, as explained by Hu and Wittmann. Tests on three or four specimen sizes with four notch to depth ratios confirm the ...

The development of environmentally accepted methods of used tire disposal is one of the greatest challenges that waste management experts face today. Use of waste rubber particles as aggregate in self-compacting concrete is a suitable solution for the environmental hazards of waste tires being produced on a large scale. The aim of this work is to investigate the influence of the size of waste r...
